Video Conference with Almagul Menlibayeva

This special event focuses on the work of Almagul Menlibayeva, one of the most influential contemporary artists from Central Asia, whose practice spans video, photography, textiles, and installation.

15:00 — Screening of video works
15:50 — Introductory talk by Darya Kalembet, Assistant Curator of FLOW
16:10 — Live discussion with Almagul Menlibayeva (via video conference) followed by Q&A

Born in Almaty and currently working between Germany and Kazakhstan, Menlibayeva’s work explores post-Soviet realities, decolonial feminist perspectives, ecology, and nomadic mythologies. Her works have been presented internationally, including at the Venice Biennale and the Sydney Biennale.
