Flow: Central Asian Video Art Programme hosted The Artists’ Talk featured Dina Baitassova, Madina Joldybek, Aziza Kadyri, Sana Serkebaeva, and Aziza Shadenova. The event offered invaluable perspectives on the creative processes and conceptual frameworks of emerging and established artists from the region.
The programme began with a screening of selected works, including Red Scene (2025) by Dina Baitassova, White Noise (2021) by Madina Joldybek, Nuclear Dreams (2025) by Aziza Kadyri, Aitys (2022) by Sana Serkebaeva, and The Disappearing City (2011) by Aziza Shadenova, creating a shared space for reflection and discussion.
Following the screening, the artists spoke about their creative processes, personal experiences, and the ideas behind their projects. The conversation touched on questions of memory, identity, urban change, social realities, and the role of video as a medium for storytelling and documentation, as reflected in the themes and narratives of the presented works.
The discussion naturally developed into an open dialogue with the audience. Participants asked questions, shared their impressions, and engaged directly with the artists, making the event feel collaborative and inclusive.
